Akkara Disability help desk was inaugurated on 13/10/2023 at the institution .Mr. Mohammed Yasir, Manager, Akkara Foundation inaugurated the help desk and announced Mr. Manoj as the head of disability help desk. The major aim of the help desk is to support the parents at the institution with to get UDI card, Niramaya insurance and to introduce other schemes for empowering disabled children.

A blood donation camp was organized at institution in association with Red Cross Mangalore .The program was coordinated by TSW’s from Sree Sabareesa College, Kottayam, around 70 people donated blood including staffs, community people and parents.

As part of the world palliative day, Akkara foundation distributed wheelchair to 8 needy beneficiaries who have been identifies by the palliative team through home care visits .The wheelchairs have been handed over by Sri.C Krishna Kumar (Hon.District & Session Judge &Chairman DLSA Kasaragod) in the presence of whole Akkara family members.

Akkara Foundation celebrated world mental health day on 10^th October at the institution, various programs where scheduled for the day such as exhibition, mental health clinic and awareness program. The exhibition was inaugurated by Sri.C Krishna Kumar (Hon.District & Session Judge &Chairman DLSA Kasaragod), several other eminent personality joined such as guests and resource persons Sri.Karunakaran B (Sub Judge &Secretary DLSA Kasaragod), Dr.Rajaram (Superintendent, General Hospital, and Kasaragod) and Smt.Sheeba Mumthaz C K (District Social Justices Officer, Kasaragod. The whole program was coordinated by the psychology department and a huge participants were present for the day at Akkara foundation.

Mr.Ragesh (President ,All Kerala Wheelchair Right Federation ,Kasaragod ) a differently abled person  for the first time  from  Kerala have taken initiative to travel  in its own car from Kasaragod to Kashmir as to accomplish his dream ,in this travel Akkara foundation had expressed their full support and a  grand sendoff was arranged at the institution .

A workshop was arranged in contention with Cerebral Palsy Awareness month on the topic assessment of pediatric neurological disorder. The resource person of the day was Dr.Sanjay Parmar (PDF, PhD, MPT (Pediatric)) ,there were around  80 participants who joined the workshop and the workshop was very informative for the participants .

Three days National Level Residential Workshop was conducted on Project Management and Proposal Writing at Good Shepherd Pastoral Center, Kanhangad. The workshop was director by Smt.Sheeba Mumthaz C K (Dist.Social Justices Officer, Kasaragod) and was coordinated by Better Life and Akkara Foundation on 30^th Sep,1^stand 2^nd Oct .The resource persons of the workshop were, Dr.Sasikumar C (Dist. Centre for Research and Development),Prof.V G Harishkumar(Reserch Scholar,Annamalal University),Sajith Kumar K (General Manager Dist Industries Centre,Kasaragod)Adv.T V Gangadharan(Tax Consultant,Kasaragod) ,Sayyid Sawad(Business,Development Coordinator, Kerala Startup Mission)and Mr,Biju P (Dist. Probation Officer, Kasaragod).The sessions gave an practical experience to all the volunteers who participated in the workshop .

Akkara Foundation celebrated 2022 Onam on 6^th September at the Centre with the support of all the staffs, parents and community people .The celebration started with an inauguration ceremony by Unni Raj (Actor, Marimayam Fame)the chief guests of the day was Mr.Thulaseedharan M(Actor,Nena Than Case Kode Frame ) and Mr.Seethrama Ballullaya(Manager,Sree Subramaniya Swamy Temple Muliyar).The ceremony started with the welcome address of Mr.Sajan Antony (Project Coordinator),followed by presidential address was delivered by Mr. Mohammed Yasir(Project Manager) and he welcomed each guest to the stage and they all wished a great year for the whole Akkara family members ,after the ceremony various games and cultural programs were showcased by parents ,children and staffs of Akkara Foundation .Akkara Foundation had arranged Sadhya for around 600 people and the staffs along with the community people served the delicious  feast to all, and made the day most memorable .

The winners Mr. Hameed and Shayam Mohan of National Football Championship which was held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi were given a grand welcome at the Kasaragod railway station by Akkara Foundation in association with Better Life Foundation, they were taken in jeeps all over the town and there were bands to cheers them.

Akkara Thanal Centre for Residential Care for person with disability Centre stone was laid on 25/08/2022 .The Foundation stone laying ceremony for the Residential care was laid by Smt.Mini P V (president Muliyar Grams Panchayat) in the presence of Abdul Aziz Akkara (Chairman, Akkara Foundation), and the chief guest of the ceremony was Dr.Idrees (Chairman, Daya Rehabilitation Trust) .The ceremony was a grand success with the presence of around 200 participants.
