RHYTHM MUSIC STUDIO INAUGRATION

Music is a language that people of all ages, religions, nationalities, and ethnicities speak. It has the capacity to touch every soul, including those of children with special needs, and it can be an incredible tool in the education and socialization of children with special needs. So as part of empowerment and skill development, Akkara Foundation Started a RHYTHM music studio to train the special need children .On 28/1/2023 Mr .Akhil J Chand (playback singer) inaugurated the rhythm music studio, there were more than 100 participants for the inauguration ceremony as many cultural programs was also presented by special need children and their parents.

Akkara Foundation celebrated 74th Republic day through hosting flag and through parsing our freedom fighters .The Flag Host was done by Mrs.Radhamma (wife of late freedom fighter) after the flag host Radhamma was honored by Mr.Mohamed Yasir N(Manager, Akkara Foundation ) .

COMMUNITY PSYCHIATRY VOLUNTEER ORIENATAION

Akkara Foundation initiated Community Psychiatry Clinic in association with Thanal Rehabilitation centre for the welfare of psychiatric patients in Kasaragod district. As an initial phase Akkara foundation arranged the volunteer orientation program for the volunteers at Muliyar and Karadka Panchayat detailing them about mental health, its importance and the management phase, the session was  inaugurated by Mr.Mohamed Yasir N (Manger ,Akkara Foundation) and the resource persons were the  TSW’s from BCM College Kottayam .

PALLIATIVE VAN INAUGRATION

Akkara Palliative care unit provides home based medical care to the people suffering from cancer, strokes and especially bed ridden patients. So as part of Kerala Palliative day celebration Akkara Foundation introduced a new van for the palliative care unit in order to extent the services to the needy at the remotest area of Kasaragod district , The official inauguration was done by  Mr. Shanavas Padhoor(vice-president,Kasaragod District panchayat).

AVT ROOM INAUGRATION

Auditory-verbal therapy is a method for teaching deaf children to listen and speak using their residual hearing in addition to the constant use of amplification devices such as hearing aids, FM devices, and cochlear implants. Auditory-verbal therapy emphasizes speech and listening.Akkara Foundation Introduced AVT room at the centre for emphasizing speech and listening issues of differently abled  children, The room was inaugurated by MLA N.A Nillikunnu in the  presence of chairman Mr.Akkara Mohammmed Adbul Aziz ,staffs and parents .

PALLIATIVE FAMILY GET TOGETHER

Akkara Foundation Bekal is a Non-profitable Organization, established in 2018, based in Kasaragod, Kerala. The trust has been formed primarily to initiate medical and psycho-social assistance in the upliftment of physically and mentally challenged individuals. Akkara Foundation palliative wing was started in 2018 to provide services for the needy patients. Palliative wing provides services of  doctors, nurses, social workers, counselors, physiotherapists and home care services also. Akkara foundation palliative wing has around 600 beneficiaries in 6 panchayts.

        As part of palliative day, palliative day celebration is conducted in Akkara foundation.The palliative day programme started at 10:30 am. The programme started with the welcome dance performed by parents followed by welcome speech by Mr. Muhammed Yasir, Manager Akkara Foundation. The programme was inaugrated by Mr. Akkara Muhammed Abdul Aziz, Chairman of Akkara Foundation.Inaugration of new van of palliative wing was done by Mr. Shanavas padhoor, vice-president,kasaragod District panchayat.  Block panchayat President Mrs. Siji Mathew, Muliyar Gram Panchayat President Mrs. PV Mini, Chengala Panchayat President Mr. Khader Badria, Muliyar Ward Member Mrs. Shyamala, Muliyar Medical Officer Dr. Shamima, Health Superintendent Mr . Ashraf, Mr. Kunjikrishnan Nair, Shri. KB Muhammad Kunj, Mr. Latif Kubadanje, Mrs. Sulekha Mahim, Mr. BC Kumaran, Mr. Masood Bovikanam, Dellampadi Health Inspector Mrs. Suresh has gathered and delivered felicitations for the programme. Around 80 patients gathered for the function.

                The volunteers from people’s cooperative Arts and science college, Malik Dinar Nursing college, Green Woods Arts and science collegel and Govt. College,  Kasargod  volunteered for the programme. Various cultural programmes  like Thiruvathira, oppana, Magic Show, YogaShow , Dance etc. were organized as part of palliative day celebration performed by patients,parents, interns, staffs and volunteers. Experience was shared by  Akkara foundation palliative beneficiaries. Around 600 people from 6 panchyats joined the programme and provided a thankful feedback about the programme. The celebration wrapped up with the ‘Shinkarimelam’ by Kairali team. Mr. Moideen poovakada, Palliative leader of Akkara foundation delivered the vote of thanks.

SCREENING CAMP AT TRIKARIPUR GRAMA PANCHAYAT

As part of the community extension acticvity Akkara Foundtaion in association with Trikaripur gram Panchayat, CHC and PTH organized an screening camp at Kaikottukada school,Trikaripur for special need children below 12 years ,Various professionals from Akkara Foundation conducted screening of around 40 children with various disabilities and provided them with proper guidance and support .Screening camp was inaugurated by Mr.Sathar(Panchayat president) and chief guest of the day was Mr.Akkara Mohammed Abdul Aziz (chairman Akkara Foundation).
