Akkara Foundation observed CP awareness month .Akkara Foundation, Physiotherapy CUEVAS MEDEX Exercise department was inaugurated by Dr. B Narayana Naik (Retired Senior Consultant Pediatrician, Secretary IAP ,Kasaragod )on 6/10/2023. Cuevas Medek Exercises, is a physical therapy approach for infants suffering abnormal developmental motor evolution caused by a known or unknown non-degenerative syndrome affecting the Central Nervous System, including Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Hydrocephalus, Down Syndrome, Ataxia, among others.

As part of community extension activity Akkara Foundation in association with Padanna grama panchayat conducted awareness session for ASHA and Anganwadi Teachers at FHC Padanna on 20/9/2023, there were 80 participants who took part in the session. The resource persons for the day was Mr.Jinil Raj (Centre Head) and Fathimath Thasniya M A (HOD, Consultant Psychologist) they detailed about the importance of early identification and early intervention in disability management in children and also shared a screening tool for the better understanding and future examination .After the session an interaction session was arranged to clarify doubts and feedbacks from participants were collected.

Satellite Centre is a new integrated approach of community based rehabilitation for special need. Akkara Foundation started its first satellite centre at Trikaripur “Minions” in association with PTH Trikaripur. On 4/09/2023 “Minions’’-Solution for Ultimate Rehabilitation Centre was inaugurated by Panakkad Syed Swadikhali Shihab Thangal  in the presence to Mr.Akkara Mohammed Abdul Aziz(Chairman ) and other officials and Staffs   from PTH and Akkara Foundation.

Akkara Foundation celebrated onam with the Akkara family members and community people on 26/8/2023.As part of onam celebration various off stage and on stage programs were performed like: Payasam competition, onam rally, fashion show etc. The guests of the day were Dr.Ramdas AV (Dist. Medical Officer, Kasaragod), Jayaraj PK (Deputy Commission of Excise, Kasaragod) Biju P (Dist. Probation Officer, Kasaragod) and Anil Kumar (Circle Inspector of Police, Adhur).Various cultural programs of children, parents and staffs were performed, there were more than 600 participants who gathered at the open auditorium of Akkara Foundation and celebrated together the joy of happiness.

Akkara Foundation collaborated with Yenepoya University  to advance training and research .Mr.Mohamed Farhaad (PRO Chancellor,Yenepoya University  ) handed over the signed MoU to Mr.Akkara Mohamed Abdul Aziz(Chairman ,Akkara Foundation) .With was really a big turning point in the history of Akkara Foundation for an bright future .A team including chairman ,manager and PRO of Akkara Foundation visited various  departments of Yenepoya University and finally got an golden moment to meet the administration team of Yenepoya University .

Akkara Foundation celebrated Independence Day with staffs, children and their parents. The flag was hoisted by retired army man in the presence of friends and family members of chairman.

Mr. Anwar Kanneeri Ammiikkad (Writer ,motivational speaker ) visited Akkara Foundation on 12/8/2023 .He took initiative to interact with the parents and  staffs ,he is a true inspiration of all people as he covered his disability with his ability and confidence .It was really an inspiring  session for all ,after the session he explored Akkara Foundation centre and appraised our work .

Akkara Foundation in association with Autism Club Kasaragod organized a screening camp for autistic people at GLPS Perola  Nileshwar ,more than 100 people participated in screening camp and professionals from Akkara Foundation screened the children and provided proper guidance to the parents regarding the treatment and management of the disability .

Akkara Foundation chairman Mr. Akkara Abdul Mohammed Aziz, was honored by Buildup Kasaragod Society for the dedicated service in the disability management sector. The “Active Philanthropy Activist in the Disability Management sector” award was received by board of directors in the absences of Chairman.
