Palliative Care is specialized medical care for people living with a serious illness. This type of care is focused on providing relief from the symptoms and stress of the illness. The goal is to improve the quality of life for both the patient and the family.

Akkara Foundation presently has two palliative teams covering around 7 panchayats and 3000 beneficiaries from different parts of Kasaragod and South Canara Districts of Karnataka. The palliative team consist of a doctor, 3 nurses, 2 drivers, a social worker, a physiotherapist and other professionals on demand.
