PALLIATIVE FAMILY GET TOGETHER

Akkara Foundation Bekal is a Non-profitable Organization, established in 2018, based in Kasaragod, Kerala. The trust has been formed primarily to initiate medical and psycho-social assistance in the upliftment of physically and mentally challenged individuals. Akkara Foundation palliative wing was started in 2018 to provide services for the needy patients. Palliative wing provides services of  doctors, nurses, social workers, counselors, physiotherapists and home care services also. Akkara foundation palliative wing has around 600 beneficiaries in 6 panchayts.

        As part of palliative day, palliative day celebration is conducted in Akkara foundation.The palliative day programme started at 10:30 am. The programme started with the welcome dance performed by parents followed by welcome speech by Mr. Muhammed Yasir, Manager Akkara Foundation. The programme was inaugrated by Mr. Akkara Muhammed Abdul Aziz, Chairman of Akkara Foundation.Inaugration of new van of palliative wing was done by Mr. Shanavas padhoor, vice-president,kasaragod District panchayat.  Block panchayat President Mrs. Siji Mathew, Muliyar Gram Panchayat President Mrs. PV Mini, Chengala Panchayat President Mr. Khader Badria, Muliyar Ward Member Mrs. Shyamala, Muliyar Medical Officer Dr. Shamima, Health Superintendent Mr . Ashraf, Mr. Kunjikrishnan Nair, Shri. KB Muhammad Kunj, Mr. Latif Kubadanje, Mrs. Sulekha Mahim, Mr. BC Kumaran, Mr. Masood Bovikanam, Dellampadi Health Inspector Mrs. Suresh has gathered and delivered felicitations for the programme. Around 80 patients gathered for the function.

                The volunteers from people’s cooperative Arts and science college, Malik Dinar Nursing college, Green Woods Arts and science collegel and Govt. College,  Kasargod  volunteered for the programme. Various cultural programmes  like Thiruvathira, oppana, Magic Show, YogaShow , Dance etc. were organized as part of palliative day celebration performed by patients,parents, interns, staffs and volunteers. Experience was shared by  Akkara foundation palliative beneficiaries. Around 600 people from 6 panchyats joined the programme and provided a thankful feedback about the programme. The celebration wrapped up with the ‘Shinkarimelam’ by Kairali team. Mr. Moideen poovakada, Palliative leader of Akkara foundation delivered the vote of thanks.
